Color Consulting

Color can inspire and cause a stir within you. Saucy Design can bring that feeling out in your project through thoughtful color selection.

Refined Cozy Victorian

This Noe Valley living room was updated with refined details yet remains a comfortable space for entertaining friends or lounging quietly around the fireplace. The large bay window allows for filtered viewing of the city. The home office quietly integrates into the space by creating opportunity for artwork and collected artifacts.

The shelter-style lounge chairs upholstered in velvet add another comfortable place to sit in the space. Sheer natural shades, modern floral drapes and printed velvet poufs frame refurbished vintage lamps placed on the freshly lacquered console table.

Small powder bath off living room was updated with glamour in mind. Lacquered grasscloth wallpaper has the look and texture of a Chanel suit. The modern cut crystal lighting and abstract Tufenkian carpet compliment the glass wall-hung sink to complete the room.

French Inspired Kitchen

The design concept was to create a spacious kitchen with maximum storage and versatile cooking options. The La Cornue range selected for it’s size, multiple cooking capabilities, and the durability of its finish, is the queen of the kitchen.

Cabinets with inset doors and drawers provide an authentic feel along with the Moroccan tile and quartz marble countertop.

The white breakfront was part of the original kitchen and remained in the same location. The integrated refrigeration was slimmed down to allow for wider pantry storage.

A new Marvin window installed above the farmhouse sink was painted to match the cabinets.

All lighting is a mix of vintage and modern design, and provides the flexibility required for various cooking tasks.

A linoleum engraving by French artist Julien Schuster, graces a wall in the kitchen with rich luxe hues of claret and teal. Julien’s linocuts are a treasure to own and see on a daily basis.

Modern Condo

The design approach in this Mission condo was to create an environment which provided calm and respite away from a demanding career. The space is naturally bright and with the minimal use of color along with carefully selected furnishings, the city views and patios reflect dramatically into the interior.
The vintage coke dispenser was incorporated into the dining area to serve as an interesting conversation piece, (it works too). The glass tile splash in the kitchen provides warmth and linear contrast to the quartz countertops and dark wenge cabinets.
The master bedroom showcases a single bed of rift oak washed in a warm gray finish. Bedside tables open at the sides of the bed as needed. Minimal use of furnishings throughout keep the space quiet and easy.

Vintage Mediterranean

The vision for this vintage Mediterranean home was to create a relaxed, family friendly interior.

The space is filled with a variety of comfortable seating for TV viewing, reading or entertaining guests. Custom drapery in a linen abstract palm pattern creates a dramatic backdrop for the beachy inspired palette and objects. Star pendants fill the space overhead with soft light and remind you of stars.

The vintage fireplace was faced in a hand-finished silver leaf terra cotta tile to create beautifully classic focal point in the room. The bookcase and built-in media cabinet were lacquered in a rich glossy brown paint with contrasting knobs added for interest.

Fashion Forward Condo

The inspiration for this modern condo interior was to create a splash with a nod to fashion and color.

New furnishings and accessories were integrated with existing artwork which in some cases has traveled with the client as she has moved throughout the country, Asia and Europe. Because of all of that travel, we wanted to create a home which felt deeply personal and with comfort.

Wine Country Kitchen

This open plan with kitchen and family room combined was designed with entertaining in mind.

Kitchen cabinets are complimented by a mosaic backsplash made from a blend of glass and natural stone. Casual furnishings in the family room can be moved about to accommodate many friends. A dry bar with wine fridge is conveniently located nearby for easy access. Lastly, there is a sunny nook just off the kitchen which offers the perfect respite to enjoy morning coffee.
